But, Lord ... Sometimes the Green Mile seems so long ...

I'll start with a little digression / indignation.

I read negative reviews, where respected spectators take the liberty to say that the atmosphere of the "kindergarten" reigns in prison, that all these snotty expressions of tenderness between the hero Hanks and his wife in the picture are completely out of place, that real men working in the suicide bomber, So should not behave ... Read and thought: people, where is your heart in general? Where is the soul? In what hole did you bury them? Where is your empathy and empathy? At least for a moment you tried to put yourself in the place of heroes and imagine in what conditions they are forced to work? What is the strongest emotional strain they are experiencing? Or what, you all under one comb goes, they say, the policeman working in the block for the suicide bombers is a kind of insensitive machine, devoid of all emotions? Well, frankly speaking, it was disgusting to me to read such reviews, full of cynicism and unfounded criticism. It's disgusting. Because this picture must be able to feel. After all, it is really expensive when a person who is forced to work in such a tense environment, despite everything is capable of showing true, higher human feelings - such as love, compassion and compassion.

Now go directly to my impressions after watching this wonderful picture.

I never saw that the above-mentioned critics designated the "kindergarten". The attitude of Paul, Brutus, Harry and Dean to the prisoners was very tactful and psychologically correct, sufficiently strict and fair. By the way, the performers of the roles of prisoners presented their heroes in such a way that you even realize that they did something for which they are sent to an electric chair, but they still want to sympathize. To recall even the last days of the Cause, which he spent with the mouse - in these scenes it is perfectly clear that Del did not lose his humanity, that he is capable of sincerely becoming attached and loving - even such a small, seemingly unremarkable little mouse.

Negative heroes are a separate song. Oh, Percy Wetmore, performed by Doug Hutchison, turned out to be such a notorious bastard that without shudder and disgust on him it's simply impossible to watch, and this is the unconditional merit and talent of the actor! Undoubtedly, praise deserves and the negative hero of Sam Rockwell - Wild Billy, who for a couple of days managed to arrange a shake and put the whole block "E" on his ears. As my blessed one said: "It's easy enough to play good guys. But convincingly play a villain - the task is already an order of magnitude more difficult. "

John Coffey. "As a drink. Only it is written differently "(c)

A huge, awkward good-natured. If I get to tell you about John, I get one big spoiler, and that's not the rule. Therefore, I will say simpler - you should feel this story of a person with a kind heart and a great gift, a man who, through his whole life, carried a bright spark of love to people, nature and the world, sharing this spark with those whose souls were touched by darkness or error . John seemed to be the personification of kindness, and his appearance was supposed to tell us that even in this bustling and crimson world, not everything is lost. We must be able to stop even for a minute and just look, as John himself, to the night starry sky, to see there the constellation of Cassiopeia, to breathe in the smell of meadow grass - to pay attention to such trifles that we completely fail to notice in the routine of everyday life.

Paul Edgecombe. Head of the block "E". The man who could see - almost literally - the soul of John, who, like John himself, is covered with numerous scars and scars - traces of human cruelty. And Paul was obliged to make the most important lesson from this meeting with John, because, as I think, their meeting was predetermined by fate itself. What is their last, truly heartbreaking dialogue worthwhile?

"And when I stand before God ... What will I tell him, John?"

"Tell me you did a good job." (from)

The last scene, where we see an aged Paul, turned out to be, for me, a control in the head. Similarly, I will not disclose all the details, but if you could feel this film, with a probability of 99% towards the end of it, you will sit with your eyes in a wet place and with a lump in your throat - and that will be right. Because this film simply can not remain indifferent.

I take off my hat in front of Darabont and the star duet Hanks / Duncan.

The film "The Green Mile" gets ...

10 of 10

Eternal memory of Michael Clark Duncan.
