Everyone who watches movies, in my opinion, is simply obligated to perform the program at least for the rest of his life. And it is to see at least once a few hundred (dozen) of eternal movies. World. Legendary. Those that sometimes can not be watched without tears, and often after which, you rethink life and start to look at it in a different way ...

To a greater extent this list is just the same as the top 250 from Film Search, to a lesser extent - the matter of everyone's taste. But the fact that the most rating pictures in this list are required to view - it's just not discussed ...

"Green Mile" - 2 place.

Of course I heard, of course I knew, of course, the distant-predalokaya cassette from childhood was gathering dust from a friend on the shelf where it is supposed to be videotapes. Exposed to his own conviction (we read the first paragraph), I still made up my mind. And I finally began to wait: when inspiration comes, when I stay at home alone, when there will be a lot of free time, when the mood will deign ... Long postponed in general.

But still decided.

And all my ideas and fantasies about the film, still faded into oblivion ... After all, the long tedious, seemingly realistic story about the two (Hanks and Duncan) in the casemates of some prison, has turned, in fact, into an amazing fairy tale where there was a place for the men of the eight, not less. It's not just a confession of one and the tears of another on the other side of the grill, as one would have expected. This is the story of the block "I" of the American prison from the "thirties", where the same Duncan (John Coffey) found himself a short shelter, but where without him there was enough emotion and sudden air movement. But it was the hero of Duncan who became the very cherry on the cake that complements and concludes this wonderful film.

I would even say that this is a kind of theater fiction, if I may say so. But it's not so important, what is it. After all, the film is good.

The story, as already said, about the prison block, where the prisoners of their deaths spend their last days. Where is the permanent guard team headed by Tom Hanks on duty. "Green Mile" - because the floor, which is painted the entire corridor - the path of the death row to the very death - it is green. Of course, each of the prisoners is different and each has his own mood before his death. Yes, and there are many of them sitting there. But the new lodger - John Coffey - a real dark-skinned thug with a deceptive mind unequivocally breaks the peace for the beginning of the leader of the supervisors (Tom Hanks), and then his entire team and even a number of prisoners. It is with the arrival of Coffey that the end of the settled rhythm of these places comes to an end. It is after his arrival that everything becomes as it should be.

Meanwhile, this story about Coffey's imprisonment and the events accompanying his arrival is not entirely alone. At the very beginning and at the very end of the film, as in the recent Titanic, the story, in fact about the prison and the events in it, leads the hero of Hanks from our time. Noticeably aged and passed. But still alive ...

A special color for me personally gave the name of Stephen King, the novel of which created this masterpiece. I did not read it, I watched only a few movies on it, but I recognize its greatness. And if the film is by King, then at least the plot will be original and more beautiful than ever ...

No, I did not cry at all. And I do not come to euphoria at all.

I do not go prostrate all day and did not applaud the film at all.

But I'm delighted. The fact that from the simple, and removing the simple and very simple, you can create something sensual and influential.

On the one hand - not the most intriguing story, on the other - King, and the accompanying thriller, even horror, fear and tragedy.

Yes, I would say that it's just a story. Rather, just a few days from the life of the very block "I", where everything is going on and where secrets remain secrets. Where there is no way back, but there is humanity. Where there is meaning. And there is a small short-lived miracle, destined to turn the world around before several people's eyes.

This is an amazing film. At least for the fact that he likes without any explanation for the reasons. I can not even pick up words to explain the phenomenon of this three-hour masterpiece, which can be praised and even needed, but it is not clear how ...

On this, I probably will stop. Putting an ellipsis, in this amazing story, which personally for me has not reached the peak of drama and emotional splash, but unequivocally appreciated by my heart and soul.
