I continue to review my dozens, digging more in myself rather than in films. The Green Mile is one of the most sincere films in the history of mankind, to look at that, and to remain indifferent in my opinion is impossible. What is taking this extraordinary picture, mentioned in without exception all the least important tops, ratings and lists?

Let's start with a brilliant script. Darabont working for the third time, at the time, on the work of Stephen King, knew exactly the recipe for an excellent story - it's simplicity, ease of filing, and attention to detail. After the deafening success of the Shawshank Escape, the author of the adaptation understood perfectly that the fans of King's creativity, like the newly appeared fans of Darabont himself, are eagerly waiting for a repeat of success, and of course new heights. Here it must be said that the novel itself has made greater progress than Rita Hayworth and the rescue from Shoushank, and his concept, partially picked up by Mikhail Afanasyevich Bulgakov, appeals to me more. The plot moves and vicissitudes here are much more twisted and unexpected in a greater degree. Consequently, he undertook a very thorough work. Three years have passed since the publication of the novel, before the release of the picture, and it is obvious that careful transfer of all necessary details took not the last place in the list of cases that cost this time. The whole story is a sinusoid, making you experience a variety of feelings and sensations, which is the easiest way to describe how emotional roller coaster. But not only the story captivates ...

Carefully considering all the big and not very plans, the hands of David Tattersall you will easily understand that the layout of the frame is just perfect. It's a shame that a talented operator who gave us the same historical moments from the new Star Wars trilogy is now working on second-rate, and under an hour and frankly weak projects. Immediately he plays brilliantly, as the rare spurts of such a lively and spiritual nature, as well as the rough tight-seated plans of the prison, which seems to weigh on you, making you feel in a cage. Darabont was and remains one of the best directors of our time, it's a pity that he can not see his full meter very often. I hope to wait for the completion of the Walking Dead, perhaps after their finals, we will see a new work of genius. One of the unconditional achievements of the director in Mile is a competent layout and presentation of the story, so that the viewer is not bored for a rather long 180+ minutes picture. You need to have a certain courage, and a credit of trust, so as not to throw out any significant moments, to please reduce the timing (hello of the untalented adaptation of the Black Tower, the same outstanding author). Here, with this complete order, everything, as they say, in their places, which leads to a sense of integrity of the narrative, and makes you believe the stories, during and after the end of the viewing.
