One day a new prisoner arrives at them. The huge black man with indescribable fear in his eyes made a strong impression on Paul Edgecomb (that is the name of the main character of the film) and on the rest of the prison staff. When guards and other prisoners learned that an African American has supernatural powers, they were even more surprised. Everyone was amazed that the cumbersome modest man could make such an unforgivable act. Tom Hanks, as always, is organic in the role of a prison officer. His character during the film is forced to communicate with a powerful Negro sentenced to death for murder ...

But he doesn't look like a killer at all. And also a very strange, wonderful ... John Coffey is a unique person, while watching the film I wanted to help him, probably, as well as Paul Edgecomb wanted it. He once said: “When the Lord calls upon his righteous judgment, He will ask me:“ Why did you kill one of my real miracles? ”What will I tell Him? What is my job? ” Oh, I totally agree with him. Having put myself in the place of the prison guard, I still could not find the answer - how to act in such a situation correctly? - I can not even imagine the pain that torments Paul's soul. Will they be able to execute an innocent and, it seems, a holy man?

I recommend this to everyone the smartest movie I've seen, from all the abundance of Hollywood films. What a book, what a film, both excellent. I could not come to my senses for a long time when I watched the movie for the first time ... I am still impressed, and then when I read the book ... A kind of “The Master and Margarita” from Stephen King ... and ITS crucified again, and history repeats itself ... You know, I I think our world will be better only when the penalty does not take place, and someone refuses (even at the price of his own well-being) to crucify Christ again and again ... And no matter how he appears before the world - a lonely vagabond or a huge black man condemned for murder - there is always a chance to save him, and we are not sai ... And do not think, by "we" I mean myself, and this is even more heavily on the soul ... The film is a masterpiece. I watched it for the first time 12 years ago. Since then, I don’t remember how many other films I have watched, but this one will forever remain one of those in my life that touched me to tears, which means that we are still alive.

Very piercing and touching film, be sure to watch, because they will not leave anyone indifferent. Makes me think. The film is very strong, and leaves a strong imprint. “War of the Worlds”, “Titanic”, “Hachiko”, “1000 Words”, “Untouchable (1 + 1)” - all these films made me cry in my heart, but this one ... I don’t turn my tongue to call this film a masterpiece, because it's something more! Drama + Fantastic = "Green Mile".

High-quality film, Excellent cast, Good Russian voice acting, ... This is just brilliant! I advise you to look the same to those who have never seen. And with each new viewing I discover something new in myself. A history for all times. For the soul is a shock, and tears purify the soul. This is in my opinion the best adaptation of Stephen King. I watched “The Green Mile” after the movie “9 Yards”, so Michael Duncan was impressed. Well, Tom Hanks? Here and so everything is clear. Another awesome role, awesome actor. The ending just for the soul has touched, it is a pity that even in our time, there are a lot of such cases. When I revise this film, everything seems to me that it should end differently. But no. The miracle does not happen. And everything repeats again. Pity Coffey, having such power, he could have escaped the sentence.

A crazy movie in terms of emotions. It is not possible to look and just forget. This film leaves a mark in the memory of a lifetime. Fascinating plot, wonderful actors. This is one of the best films of the time. Who looked, he knows the phrase "Green Mile". It caused a storm of emotions in me. This is just a masterpiece. One of the best. He has long been in the ranking, and still in the first lines. What is not surprising. The game of actors at the highest level, and of course Tom Hanks, one of the most talented actors in Hollywood! Film for all times. It looks hard enough, not everyone will survive. But for fans of the genre, the most it. How many watch it, always crying. I can’t even imagine that there will be people who have not seen him (except for children). Recommend!

It is a pity that Duncan did not get an Oscar for this role, one of those cases when the minor character makes everyone around and holds the whole movie around him, the story is very touching, the prison atmosphere is well conveyed, Stephen King-Frank Darabont as always hit the bullseye and created this masterpiece at the level of "Escape from the Shoushenk". The film is about good and evil, about philanthropy and hatred! Three hours pass like one instant.
