No event passes without a trace: it leaves its imprint in time, invading its measured flow. "Cold Mountain" was no exception, once changed forever.

Time. Here, on the Green Mile, it is fleeting and slow, generous and sparse, here everything is feasible to him. The hands of the clock are surely operating - the messengers of death, tick-tock, tick-to, the hour of reckoning, tick-to-tick, so-so, nothing can escape from them. Here, the apostates die a terrible death: Old Sparky spares no one. Here, the smell of burning causes gastric spasms, and everyone knows that interruptions in electricity supply are not caused by a thunderstorm.

However, even here there were better times, the times of John Coffey and Mr. Jingle, incredible healings and delightful circus tricks. They did not change the rules of the Green Mile, but they changed the Mile herself, did not leave her walls, but remained free. It seems that life stopped in the distant 1935, and all that was left to Paul Edgcombe - the memory of the fateful events of a rainy day, a little mouse and a big man.

The screen adaptation of Frank Darabont's novel by Stephen King is striking in its realism and frankness, which blurs the line between the film and the novel, so there is no desire to speak of minor differences.

It seems that actor Michael Clarke Duncan was familiar with Stephen King for many years and served as a prototype of John Coffey: a bass voice, an impressive composition, a strong character - this striking resemblance provokes an indescribable delight that can not be conveyed in words. Surprisingly, I do not want to divide the heroes into main and secondary, each of them is an important link in the chain of history, which, having withdrawn, it will lose all meaning.

When you start watching, you have to be prepared for the fact that the film is not from the "lungs", in 189 minutes a person experiences a wide variety of emotions: hatred, disgust, compassion, ecstasy, deep sympathy. Perhaps, it takes more than a day to understand the picture, nevertheless it deserves attention, and, undoubtedly, will leave a trace in your soul.

"The Green Mile" is a motion picture, which in its way became a classics of cinema, therefore it is included in the private list "Must See". Strongly recommended for viewing!

Night of bloody madness

What you need to make a trash, but at the same time an interesting movie about vampires? Just invite as director Rodriguez, and as a screenwriter Tarantino. And what happens? It will turn out to be a real masterpiece, a film that, despite its simplicity, will be remembered for a long time.
