The Green Mile

Everything that happens on Mile remains on Mile. This is the law.

I've never compared the "Green Mile" with any other films. This picture stands for me separately from everyone. In these three hours of timing, so much sense and so much emotion is invested that you involuntarily marvel at the talent of Frank Darabont and Stephen King. This is one of the strongest dramas I've ever seen. It's hard to watch, because the film makes it possible to miss all the emotions of the characters through yourself. You seem to be standing next to the warders and be touched by this glorious little mouse, Mr. Jingle. You hate Percy with all your heart for his antics and wish him the worst punishment (by the way, a very colorful character, well played by Doug Hutchison). And, of course, John Coffey's story - a little strange, but kind and unselfish person, can not be forgotten.

I was shivering when I was shown execution in the electric chair. No murders and bloodshed in horror films can compare with these terrible scenes: so it was plausible. Surprisingly, touching scenes in the "Green Mile" are not inferior in quality to executions, whether scenes with healing heroes or with a mouse. It is hardly possible to recall such films that could accommodate such a wide range of emotions.

The main characters of this amazing story are also striking. They work in prison (not the most pleasant place, some causing instinctive fear), they execute people in the electric chair, and in fact their entire profession is associated with violence and cruelty. But they are very humane, open and kind people who go to the crime to save the woman and sincerely sympathize with John. Hence the moral - whatever happens, you need to remain a man.

"Green Mile" is a realistic drama with a deep meaning, despite the genre of "fantasy". The line between fantasy and reality is simply insignificant here. After all, we also often face injustice, with dishonest people and a false court. Even good people with a pure soul suffer. Even on them the misfortunes that they do not deserve. The idea is also that you can not judge people by their appearance. A strong and frightening giant can have a vulnerable and kind soul, and a small and inconspicuous person is dirty and deceitful. Is this fantastic? Is this fiction? It's just our life.

Each of us sooner or later will have to go through its green mile.
